ABOUT SURFACE DRESSING

Surface dressing involves spraying a sticky bitumen binder onto the driveway or road surface, and then spreading small, consistently sized chippings over the top.

 

The surface is then rolled to press the chippings into the binder. Any loose chippings are then swept up, and although some will remain, these will continue to be embedded into the surface as it is used.

WHY CHOOSE SURFACE DRESSING?

For surface dressing to be a viable option, the road or driveway needs to be in relatively good condition. If there are large potholes and cracks in the surface, then a resurfacing treatment may be necessary. However, a surface dressing can last up to 10 years, and a driveway can be treated in this way up to three times before resurfacing is necessary.


It will increase the lifespan of your driveway by many years, as it will help seal your driveway and prevent water seeping in and will help protect against frost and water damage. It will also reduce the risk of skidding, in icy conditions.
